I will stamp all over 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Ex twice world title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually known for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly happening.
